Bruno Antunes was born and raised in Madeira Island, Portugal. He received his degree in Architecture from the Faculdade de Arquitectura da Universidade do Porto, Portugal, followed by his certification in Art Education from the University of Aveiro, Portugal. In 2013 he received a scholarship from Europe Comenius Education Programme to develop his educational practices in the Czech Republic. Since then, he has progressed his activity as an art educator in China and Japan. Bruno now calls Fukuoka his home where he has been deepening his knowledge of ceramics with local artists. In 2020 Bruno named The Pottery Affair, a space where he creates and records his ceramic adventures.
His ceramic work is predominately functional with shapes formed on the potter’s wheel. The lines are simple and sober with a focus on the textures and natural colours of materials.
